Marshall L. Anderson Obituary
March 21, 1928 - December 14, 2013 Marshall L. "Andy" Anderson died at home Dec. 14, leaving his wife of 40 years, Patricia. He retired as deputy chief in charge of South Bureau from the Los Angeles Police Department. He was LAPD's first community relations officer, organized the Asian Task Force and wrote several police manuals. Later he managed security for the Los Angeles Olympics games, including UCLA, USC, the Coliseum and other venues. Born March 21, 1928 he served in the Navy in World War II, graduated from Northwest University, and earned a business MBA degree from Pepperdine. He was president of the Westwood Village Rotary Club in 1982 and then was Rotary governor He also served on the Westwood YMCA Board and the Salvation Army Metropolitan Board. His interests include travel, cooking, fishing and golf. He leaves four children: Michael, Donna, Liane and Victoria, and eight grandchildren: Jaclyn, Julie, Jonathan, Christopher, Charley, Beth, Francie and Caroline, and four great grandchildren, Hayley, Thomas, Kaelyn and Nolan.
