Mary SULLIVAN Obituary

SULLIVAN, Mary W. Aug. 16, 1929 - Oct. 20, 2010 Born Mary Harriet Ward in Brookline, MA, she was a beloved family member, extraordinary teacher and cherished friend. She earned a BS in Education at Framingham State College, a Masters in Education at Harvard, a Masters in Special Education at Chapman College, and taught elementary school for more than 35 years in Massachusetts and California, including 20 years at Birdielee Bright Elementary. She was a longtime member of Corpus Christi Parish and the Pacific Palisades community, where she resided for almost 50 years. She is survived by her daughters Nancy and Cary Sullivan, her son-in-law Rocky Dawuni and her granddaughters Safiyah Dawuni and Riley O'Donnell. Her beloved daughter Debbie Sullivan passed away in 2004. "Mary W" was often described as one of the coolest ladies on the planet. A memorial mass will be held at Corpus Christi Church in Pacific Palisades on Saturday, October 30th at 11 a.m. In her honor, pledge time to read with a child at www.target.com/reading or make a donation to the LA Youth Network at www.layn.org.

She was the rock of Gibraltar I think! She raised you gals and lord knows she had her hands full with that and look you turned out pretty good. She is lucky to have had Rocky and Safiyah in her life along with the whole crew. Keep those strong Irish principals firm or she just may lecture you from above. Patrick & Donald
