Salamunovich, Michael Nicholas

Michael Nicholas Salamunovich "Mike" of West Los Angeles passed away on October 23, 2010 surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in 1922 in Los Angeles, CA the son of Joseph and Pauline Salamunovich. He was the third of five siblings, John, George, Joseph Jr., and Paul Salamunovich.
He attended Redondo Beach Union High School where he played football for the Seahawks. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served during World War II in the Pacific as a signalman aboard the USS Sea Snipe.
After his discharge from the Navy, he married Patricia Barrett of Hollywood on August 7, 1948 and the couple made their home in West Los Angeles.
Mike enjoyed a remarkable career in film and television production as a member of the Directors Guild of America until his retirement at age 80.
Mike is survived by his wife of 63 years Patricia, brothers George, Joseph and Paul, son Michael (Denise), son Patrick (Linnea), son Timothy (Katie), daughter Teresa (Michael) Stecher and daughter-in-law Donna.
Grandchildren Julie (Ted) Kosev, Jill (Rain) Madrone, James, Annie Pat, Michael Donald, Thomas John, Molly, Mark, William, Nicholas, Grace and Hannah Stetcher.
Great Grandchildren Sophie and Eli Kosev, Rio and Fisher Madrone.
Mike was preceded in death by his brother John, his son Christopher and an infant grandson Joseph.
Funeral mass will be celebrated on October 30, 2010 at l:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5835 West Slauson Avenue, Culver City, CA 90230. Services will be preceded by a Rosary.
