Michelle Ann Bison Obituary
Michelle Ann Bison passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on April 14, 2013 from complications related to her 10 year battle with breast cancer. Michelle was born on October 11, 1963 in Ulm, Germany to Thomas Richard Little Bison and Suzanne Overall who both preceded her in death. As a young family they settled in Canyon Country, CA. Michelle loved Southern California and all it has to offer. Michelle worked at the Los Angeles Times for 23 years. She was a tenacious team leader who showed great pride in nurturing & providing her Inside Sales Team with tools & knowledge she herself used to become successful in her career. Throughout her tenure, Michelle consistently exceeded her sales goals, kept her internal and external customers a top priority and made it a mission to ensure her work family members were assisted when faced with challenges of their own. From her colleagues: "Michelle was a blessing to our organization and we are all proud to have had a chance to know and work beside her." Michelle studied ballet as a little girl and developed a love of music and swing dancing throughout her adult life. She had a passion for art, films and interior design that gave her an overall elegance and style that was entirely her own – a blend of vintage rockabilly and sleek modernism. She loved to go 'treasure hunting' at flea markets and thrift stores and had a gift for finding amazing treasures that she seamlessly incorporated into her home and/or wardrobe. She always had her ear to the ground for any news of restaurant openings, museum exhibits and great concerts. She was intelligent, brave, determined, creative, brave, beautiful, inspiring, brave, hard working, funny and brave. She was all of these things and more before cancer and in spite of it. Michelle considered her greatest treasure to be her family. She is survived by her sister, Jennifer Kowal, brother-in-law Michael Kowal, 3 beloved nieces; Emma, Paige and Tess Kowal, sister, Kathleen Price and best friend Scott Praska as well as an amazing circle of friends. She loved deeply, was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
