Myrtle Porter-DeLilly Obituary
June 25. 1925 - October 25, 2010
Myrtle "Red" Porter-DeLilly passed away on October 25th, 2010 at the age of 85. She graduated from Wayne State in Detroit MI., where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Education. In college she met her first husband, Calvin Porter. After her first marriage ended, she moved to Los Angeles, California where for over thirty years she taught second grade at Boyle Heights Elementary School and later Arlington Heights Elementary School in the Los Angeles Unified School District. As a life long Christian she was an active member of the UCC Church of Christian Fellowship in Los Angeles. Red's second husband was Dr. Mayo R. Delilly, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Julie DeLilly-Dumas (Stevan), stepson Mayo R. DeLilly III, and her four grandchildren, Evan, David, Irene, and Lauren.
Services will be held on Monday, November 8th at 1pm, Church of Christian Fellowship, 2085 Hobart Blvd., Los Angeles. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to charitable organizations supporting education for children.
