Nathan Prusan Obituary

Prusan, Nathan
January 28, 1920 - September 22, 2010
Nathan Prusan, born January 28, 1920 to Max and Mary Prusansky in Brooklyn New York, died September 22, 2010, Erev Sukkot, in Henderson, Nevada. On his 90th birthday, due to the care and devotion of Lilian, his wife, of 59 years, his extended family celebrated their beloved elder. He was the loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle to a beautiful next generation and was fondly thought of by countless friends. Nate was the father of Jody and Peretz (Rebecca); and grandfather of Leora, Avital, and Noah. He also is survived by adoring sisters, Shirley (Nat z''l), Lilli (Al z''l), and Leona (Sol); and was the brother-in-law of Ruth (z''l) and (Larry z''l), and Stanley (Adele); and he is Uncle Nat to Susan (Eli z''l), Carole (Mel), Larry (Barbara), Roger (Fran), Rob, Ken (Felicia), Gary (Debbie), Robert, Lynn (Bill), Donna (Charlie), and Hillary (Michael).

Nate proudly served in the US Navy on the USS Idaho during WWII. A celebrated neon glass bender, he illuminated our lives both in works of art and in our hearts.

With Lilian, he enjoyed musical performances and supported many artists in their quest for recognition. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 10, at University Synagogue in Los Angeles.

Donations in Nate's memory may be made to the Associates for Breast & Prostate Cancer Studies (323-904-4400).

So sad to hear about Nate. Although I never met him he was a childhood friend of my dad's, SOL SHMULEWITZ, and when my dad passed this past April we tried to look Nate up.
Our condolences to you and your entire family.

Nathan was plainly and simply, sweet. His smile and inquisitiveness and great stories always brought me joy. The smile in his eyes is reflected perfectly in Jody. Lillian, your sense of love, family and celebrating milestones for your loved ones inspires all who know you. Nathan was blessed with a loving and dedicated family. My condolences to the Prusan family.

I never got an opportunity to meet Nate, but his lovely wife, Lillian, has been in our thoughts and prayers for many months while she cared for her life partner and husband. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Lillian, and your entire family. What a wonderful life he lived and what a fabulous support system he had.
