HICKEY, DM, Patricia O'Connor passed away just two weeks from celebrating her 98th birthday. Pat is survived by her five children Maureen, Thomas III, Michael, Madeline and Patrick along with many Raney and Hickey nieces and nephews and brothers-in-law James Hickey, Joseph Hickey and sisters-in-law Mary Hickey and Pat Hickey. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Tom, sisters Madeline O'Connor, Mary Raney and brother-in-law Aidan Raney, M.D.
Pat was a native Angeleno who was born on St. Patrick's Day. She graduated cum laude from Mount St. Mary's College and then at the height of World War II, married U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander Thomas J. Hickey, Jr. Although wartime marriages were discouraged, Tom and Pat were blessed with fifty-six years of happiness, settling in Beverly Hills in 1951 where she resided for the past sixty-two years. Pat enjoyed active involvement in many educational and charitable organizations throughout Los Angeles. She served as Chairman of the National Charity League (1959-1960), President of the Henry Welch Guild at Loyola High School (1963-1964), President of Marymount High School's Mother's Club (1965-1966), President of the Social Service Auxiliary (1975-1977), President of the Los Angeles Orphanage Guild (1982-1983) and Advisory board member for Maryvale (1983-2009). In 1984, Pat was granted the papal honor of Dame of Malta. Mass of Christian Resurrection will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd in Beverly Hills (505 No. Bedford Dr.). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mt.
