Richard C. Herr Obituary
Richard C Herr died on May 9, 2014, at his home in Westminster CA after a long, brave struggle with Alzheimer's. He was born on Nov. 26, 1931, in Hollywood, CA, to Glenn and Dorothy Herr. After serving in the Army during the Korean conflict for 2 years, he completed his studies with a B.A. from U.S.C. and an L.L.B. from Southwestern University. Richard had a successful 47 year career practicing Law and retired as Assistant General Counsel for the Bank of America in 1996. He then involved himself in pro-bono work until 2010. He had many varied interests: journalism, the theater, music, literature, as well as travel, hiking, and camping. Richard leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Dian. He is also survived by his children, Christopher, Catherine Hanson and her husband, Eric, Thomas and his wife, Nia, and grandchildren, Camilla and Sonja Hanson, and Kelsey and Lyric Herr. Richard Herr was slow to anger and quick with a kind word. His children and grandchildren will forever be inspired by his work ethic, sense of humor, giving nature, and his lifelong dedication to others. Dick wanted a party after his death for all his friends so plans are afoot to fulfill that wish.
