Richard Gold Obituary
April 3, 1945 - September 27, 2010
Richard (Dick) Gold longtime TV & Media executive passed away with courage & dignity at his home in Los Angeles with his wife, Nicole at his side.
Dick's career spanned numerous positions in advertising, television & media. After graduating from NYU and serving in Vietnam with the 1st Infantry Div., he began his career with Cunningham & Walsh Advertising. He worked for many years for the ABC & NBC station sales divisions & KTLA Golden West Broadcasting. He spent several years in the television syndication business, including 6 years in Asia to open those markets. In 1998, he entered the technology world, working with Lucent & Bell Labs, developing software for broadcast research & marketing.
Passionate about support for veterans, Dick was one of the founders of the Mountaingate Veteran's Appreciation Tournament "MVAT", a non-profit organization that provides funds for wounded veterans. He was instrumental in its inception, growth & success, helping raise over $500,000 in 4 years. MVAT was near & dear to him, and one of his last efforts was to help raise awareness of the organization through introductions to new supporters.
Dick is survived by his wife, Nicole Segal Gold and many dear friends.

VERY SORRY TO HEAR OF THE PASSING OF DICK.
HE WAS MY SALES MANAGER AT WLS TV CHICAGO IN THE EARLY 1970'S. NOT ONLY DID HE DO A FANTASTIC JOB AS SALES MANAGER, HE WAS ALSO A GREAT DEAL OF FUN TO BE WITH.WHEN I WAS TRANSFERRED TO KABC TV LOS ANGELES I ATTEMPTED TO BRING HIM OUT HERE AS MY GENERAL SALES MANAGER, UNFORTUNATELY THAT DID NOT WORK OUT.
MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH HIS FAMILY, MAY HE REST IN PEACE. JOHN C. SEVERINO

Richard, I've heard so much good about you and had so little time to get acquainted with you during my visits at your home. But, I am grateful to you for bringing happiness to my ''cousine'' Nicole. May the Good Lord be kind to you in this Everlasting Life.
