Rita Moore Hubacher
1919-2010
Rita Moore Hubacher died peacefully with courage and dignity at her home in Los Angeles. She was 91. Rita was with her family and caregivers who had attended her with love and great devotion since a stroke in late April. Rita's husband, Elmer, preceded her in death.
Rita was born in Harbin, China on August 8,1919. She was the daughter of James and Xenia Moore. Both had emigrated from Russia. She was brought up in San Francisco where she attended Galileo High School and met Elmer, the love of her life. They had been married 65 years.
Rita and Elmer traveled the world and shared many interests. They had homes in Sacramento and San Francisco where they were active in clubs that included Rotary, the Sutter Club, Del Paso Country Club and the Dolphin Club. They kept a home at Lake Tahoe and spent many years involved with the Tahoe Yacht Club and the Concourse d'Elegance.
In addition to traveling, Rita and Elmer loved to walk, dance and sing and spent many happy hours entertaining friends. Rita was known for her joy of life and loved the color red and roses. She is remembered for her sweetness and great optimism, always ready with a smile for strangers, babies and animals. Rita leaves three children: Rick(Myra),Lynn (Bill),John (Anna-Pia), five grand children, four great grand children, and three great great grandchildren.
At her request, a private service will be held in San Francisco. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: Bids for Kids, c/o Rotary Club of Sacramento, 355 Commerce Circle, Sacramento, Ca., 95815

My mother was a caregiver for Rita and Elmer. I met them both when I was a child and they welcomed me with big open arms. I cherish the memories we all had. I miss them everyday. To the family I miss you all too everyday.

To the family, I met her once many years ago, because I was a small child, I can't tell you the year or date. However I will always remeber the eyes and the smile.
