Robert E. Goulding, 88, of Los Angeles, Calif., passed away October 14, 2010. He was born in Garden City, Kansas on May 31, 1922. In 1940, Robert graduated from Manuel Arts High School in Los Angeles and also attended Los Angeles City College. He proudly served our country in the Navy during WWII. Robert was a pharmacist's mate first class and was stationed in Okinawa having been attached to the Marines. After the war, he studied briefly at the Sorbonne in Paris, France.
Robert was a buyer for Hunt's China Shop in Santa Barbara, Calif. for many years. During his lifetime, he lived in Calif., Arizona, and Colorado. The arts were very important to Robert, and he enjoyed symphonies, operas, and light-hearted musicals. Robert spent time visiting many art museums in Los Angeles and New York City. He enjoyed taking French classes over the years and spoke French whenever possible.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and two older brothers, John and George. Robert is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Luigi Torres, sister-in-law Vincenza Goulding, ten nieces and nephews, eleven great nieces and nephews, and four great-great nephews.
Robert was a blessing to all who knew him and will be truly missed by his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
