March 30, 1926 - January 2, 2014 Robert died of injuries sustained in a fall in his home December 6, 2013. He was the tenth of eleven children born to Mary Hahn and Philip Schierman of Russia. He attended Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland, Oregon and served in the Navy during WWII on an LSM ship, 1944-46. Following military service, he graduated in electrical engineering in 1950 from Oregon State University. He loved the Beavers and everything orange. He was very active in his fraternity from college to his death, Sigma Phi Epsilon, receiving honors last year. He eventually obtained his M.S. from Redlands University. His career began in Seattle at Boeing where he met his wife Connie (Kathleen), and eventually to TRW. In retirement, he was active and involved in furniture refinishing and upholstery. He also loved going to antiques class with Connie, and organizing his finds with his friend Rick. He was proud of earning his amateur radio license and being a member of TARA for the Torrance PD. Bob was a champion of his family and friends and always willing to help others. He was an avid user of Facebook keeping in touch with the extended Schierman family. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, daughter Tracy, and grandchildren Matthew, Kelly, and Jessica Georgis. A memorial service will be scheduled in the Spring. He will be greatly missed.
