Ellis, Ruth Nugent June 14, 1921 - May 4, 2012 Ruth Nugent Ellis passed away in Montecito, Ca. on May 4th. Ruth was born in Everett, Washington, the only child of Norma K. & A.E. Nugent. Her family moved to Ca. where Ruth graduated from Beverly Hills High School before attending Mills College and UCLA. On July 31st, 1944, she married Eugene J. Ellis, M.D. They had a glorious life together & had the good fortune of being married for over 68 years. Ruth is survived by her loving family, Gene, Joe, Susan Renwick, Amy, Michael, & Andrew Miller, Sara, Stephan & Nasen Alm, along with Tony Ellis & his family. In their heyday, Ruth and Gene played golf, bridge, & fly-fished in Colorado & Montana and traveled around the world together. Ruth had been a Founding Member of the Couple?s Club of Los Angeles. She was also directly involved in bringing Zubin Mehta to the Hollywood Bowl for his premiere performance. Ruth had been president of the Mother's Club at Black Foxe Military School & was active in the Assistance League of So. Ca. with her girls. In her later years, Ruth enjoyed painting & planning art shows at her various clubs. Mom will always be treasured as the love of our father's life. A private service will be held to celebrate the life of Ruth Nugent Ellis. In the words of her children, Mother was very caring, exuded warmth & was resilient to the very end. God bless you Mom.
