Ruth Orsi Obituary
April 25, 1918 - October 4, 2010
Ruth M. Orsi of Rancho Mirage, CA, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away peacefully on Oct. 4 in Studio City, CA at the age of 92. Born Ruth Margaret Crean in 1918 in New York City, she was the wife of the late Gerard R. Orsi, for 56 years. The couple lived in Garden City, NY and West Hampton Beach, NY before relocating to Rancho Mirage in 1986.
Ruth was passionate about politics, her family, her religion and her dog Duffy. She was a compassionate conservative, a loyal Republican and devoted member of St. Louis Church in Cathedral City which provided her with the center for her faith and her many charitable endeavors. Ruth took up golf at 39 and played successfully for 40 years, winning her Club Championship at the age of 65.
Ruth is survived by her four children, Carol Gwozdz, of Weston MA, Robert Orsi, of Newport Beach, CA, Dennis Orsi, of Monterey, MA, and Janet Orsi Shuman of Studio City, CA. She was a loving grandmother to twelve grandchildren and six great grand children. She will be remembered and loved for her spirited love of life and the kindness she showed to all.
