MAK, STEPHEN M.
December 28, 1946 - September 18, 2010
Stephen Mak died at age 63 years in Los Angeles on Sept. 18, 2010 from natural causes related to renal failure and diabetes. He was born in Canton, China Dec. 28, 1946 to Pauline Louie Mak and Allen Mak. An academic star and athlete in school, Stephen set the school record in the 100 yard dash for the C track at John Marshall High school in 1963. He earned scholastic distinction at UCLA, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in physics and Phi Beta Kappa honors in 1967. His further studies at M.I.T. was supported by a fellowship from the Atomic Energy Commission. Those college years were a great source of fond memories by his many friends. He is survived by his father Allen Mak along with siblings Priscilla Mak, Ernest Mak, Diana Mak and David Mak. There are numerous cousins, aunts, nieces and nephews from both the Mak and Louie families located in the U.S. as well as overseas. Stephen will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills on Oct. 2nd, 2010 with service at 2:30 in the Old North Church.
