Veer, Velma Van Der
March 9, 1930 - October 20, 2009
Passed away peacefully at home. She is survived by her children: son Jeff of Missouri, son Michael, daughter Julie, son-in-law Chris, grandsons Heath, Kit and Jake, all of Johns Creek, GA. Born in St John, KS, Val moved to Los Angeles in 1953 to teach at Ambassador College in Pasadena. She and her husband, Oscar winner Frank Van der Veer, who preceded her in 1982, founded "Van der Veer Photo Effects" in Burbank. They lived in Tarzana for 30 years. Val has been a resident of Johns Creek, GA for the last 8 years.

Aunt Val,
you were a beautiful and elegant lady and we all thought you were soooo glamorous!! Your precious daughter Julie and Michael and my family have all gotten alot closer as we get older especially taking care of our darling mothers! My daddy loved being your brother and you were loved very much! I remember your fantastic house in Tarzana and going to disneyland with yall when I was 7ish.

love you and I know my mom was waiting for you with open arms!! God bless you and the kiddos!
