William ANDERSON Obituary

ANDERSON, William Andrew Lt. Col USAF Retired, died Monday, Sept. 6th, 2010, surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Suzanne; children Katie Hettinger, Melissa Anderson and Andrew Anderson, his wife Kelly, grandchildren; David Hettinger, and Carson and William Anderson, sisters; Helen Candeloris and Kitty Womack, brother-in-law Jack Womack, and many nieces and nephews. William "Bill" born in New York, NY on Dec. 20, 1923, enlisted in the Army Aircorps in 1942, and after officer training, flew out of Britain, North Africa, and Italy. During a brief respite from the military he met his true love, Suzanne, whom he married in 1950, the same year he was recalled to active duty. After a distinguished 26 year career in the Air Force, he retired to private industry at Rockwell and Unisys. As an electrical engineer, he protected our nation, directing aerospace research. A visionary in microchip development, he took great pleasure in its peacetime applications. Bill loved to cook, immensely enjoyed the lemon tree he planted in the front yard, and was devoted to his wife and family, who cherish his memory. Services will be held Oct. 10th at 1:00 p.m., at the Unitarian Church in Fullerton, 1600 N. Acacia Ave., Fullerton, CA 92831.
