Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Bill was born in Los Angeles and attended Polytechnic High School. He served in the United States Air Force with distinction during the Korean War. After the service, he returned to Los Angeles where he married his high school sweetheart, Elvira Chavez, on Valentines Day, 1953. In 1955, he joined the Los Angeles Police Department, where he served proudly for 26 years. In 1970, Bill joined the Pan American Optimist Club, where he served as club president on numerous occasions. He is survived by his wife, Elvira, his daughter, Christine, his sons, John and Mike, his sister, Gloria, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013, 11:00 am at Saint Paul the Apostle Church, 14085 Peyton Drive, Chino Hills, Ca. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation, 1880 N. Academy Drive, Los Angeles, Ca. 90012.
