October 1, 1935 - October 25, 2013 William Scott Banner of Rancho Palos Verdes was born to the late Margaret and Cedric Banner and grew up in Horton, Kansas. He graduated with honors from the University of Kansas in 1957 with degrees in mathematics and history where he met his future wife Shirley Hawkins. Bill was a computer programmer, first at Douglas Aircraft and later at TRW, and earned two Master's degrees from USC, in Public Administration and Systems Management. Bill is predeceased by his sister Marlene. He is survived by Shirley, his wife of 56 years, his brother Robert (Dorothy), his brother-in-law John Smith, his daughters Lisa Banner (Bruce Yazejian), Dana Banner, and Gina McGuinness (Michael) and nine grandchildren. Services on Nov. 9, 10:00 am at Peninsula Community Church, RPV.
