William King Obituary

February 3, 1933 - June 13, 2014 Bill King passed away Friday morning, June 13 at Lake Balboa Care Center Van Nuys, CA. He was 81. Born in Detroit, MI, the son of Welsh Ohioan Ebeneezer Earl Wright & Helen Louise Colvin of AL, & grandson of Marie Colvin of TX. Bill overcame numerous early hardships, eventually graduating Principia College, followed by Harvard Law School. He successfully practiced California law, helping people, many pro bono, for more than 50 years. He had a passion for politics, working closely with Reagan, Nixon, & Tom Bradley on their campaigns, & donating time to elect Barack Obama. He also supported many human rights causes & served on several Boards of Directors. He had a passionate intellect, and enjoyed socializing, reading, and jazz. He was, and remains deeply loved. Services will be held Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 12:30pm at Mount Sinai Memorial Park & Mortuary - Hollywood Hills. Reception follows. For more information, phone (800) 600-0076.
