SHOR, Earl March 22, 1927 - May 2, 2010 Passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles, after his years of battles with heart disease and strokes. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Rita, their three children, Arthur, Amy and Richard, daughters-in-law Dorande, Sitsa, son-in-law David, six grandchildren Trevor, Gabriella, Valerie, Alex, Amanda, Brian, and great-granddaughter Brooke. He met the love of his life while on leave from the Navy at a VJ Day block party in Brooklyn, New York at the end of WWII. Earl was a successful independent businessman of many years in the jewelry business that took him and his family from New York to California in 1968. Throughout his adult life, he was a committed student of Torah and an active participant at both Temple Israel and Temple Isaiah. Earl was known and loved for his honesty, moral convictions, devotion to family and friends and reaching out to anyone in need, possessing an enduring sense of humor that endeared him to all of us who were fortunate to have known him. We will miss you Dad... Funeral Services were held at Groman Eden Mortuary, May 5, 2010. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart, American Stroke Association.
