Will always remember Sky King because I started flying when I was old enough and made a career from it.

So sorry to hear of Gloria's passing because of her and Kerby Grant in Sky king I got my pilots license at 16 and went on to aircraft engineering.

Like many others who write in Gloria's guest book, I was also a fan of Sky King. Gloria's portrayal of 'Penny' was one of the reasons we all tuned in.

Years later I met Gloria and when we became friends I discovered that she really wasn't so much acting the part as just playing herself. Gloria was every bit as charming, adorable, and sweet as Penny. The camera simply captured this and shared her persona with millions of viewers. I've never met a nicer person than Gloria Winters-Vernon.

When I look into the 'clear blue of the western sky' I'll be thinking of Gloria and her part in all our lives.

I loved her although I didn't know her personally. I became a pilot because of Sky King and she was a great addition to the show. I wish she'd given more interviews for us to remember her by!

I am one of 4 boys who grew up in Sacramento during the 1950's and 60's. Sky King was a regular adventure for us as we watched every week on our 19" black and white Magnavox. Gloria Winters Vernon and Kirby Grant gave us all some of our best childhood memories. They have both gone west now and we hope they rest in peace.

I have always been a fan of the Sky King show. I was fortunate to have known and worked with Kirby Grant who played Sky King. I wished I could have met you Gloria as Mr. Grant always spoke fondly of you. I have all 72 episodes of the Sky King series and I enjoy watching them often. Now you have your permanent wings. R.I.P. Gloria and Dean were our neighbors and we enjoyed their annual Christmas get-togethers; so many interesting people from the entertainment industry. When Dean passed away, we regularly saw Gloria walking her dog, Happy, and would stop and chat with her awhile. She was such a happy person who greatly enjoyed the outdoors. We will miss her.
