I just found out about Paul's passing. He gave me my first job in the TV business. He hired me almost right off the street. I was fresh from 70s recession Detroit. I think he felt sorry for the holes in my jeans. For this reason among other reasons, I'll always be grateful to have known him. My condolences to Paul's family. He was a good guy.

I loved him dearly and I was blessed with sharing his life. He was brilliant, funny, kind, loving and extremely charitable. He believed in living every day and really seeing the people around him. He also believed in anonymous giving and helping and asking for nothing in return. He was a fabulous singer, piano player, artist and racounter and husband. My life was blessed.

To the family and friends of Mr. Alter, I worked beside him for many years and owe him many thanks for shaping my career, personal life and observations. His memory will live on in my mind and life as his art still hangs in my home. Paul was a very special, creative man that lived life his way. May you rest forever in peace.
