APPENZELLAR, Ethel Hansen Born April 23, 1911 passed away August 21, 2011. She celebrated her 100th birthday in good health with family and friends. Ethel was the last surviving grandchild of Hans Ludwig Hansen who brought his family of six children and wife Caroline to America in 1883. After settling in America, they had four more children. Ethel's husband, Edgar Price Appenzellar, preceded her in death in 1976. Ethel had a long career working with the Chancellor's office at UCLA. She is survived by four nieces: Linda Spackman of Utah, Laurie Meinke of California, Judith Freeland of Michigan and Karen Hansen of California and many extended family and friends.
