January 14, 1929 - June 23, 2014 KITCHIN, Philip W. Born January 14, 1929 in Los Angeles, Calif. Passed away on June 23, 2014 in Palmdale, CA. Philip is survived by his wife, Carolyn T. Kitchin, M.D., St Petersburg, FL; his son, Philip W. Kitchin Jr. of Palmdale, CA; his daughters, USAF COL Victoria K. (Tim) Farley, Mt. Laurel, NJ, and Nancy K. (Norvin) Fagan of St. Petersburg, FL, Leigh Anne Kitchin, Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Melissa Farley of Atlanta, Ga., Allen Farley, Mt. Laurel, N.J., Jessica R. and Steven F. Kitchin, Charlotte, N.C., Amy Fagan, St. Petersburg, Fl, and his sister, Sandra P. Kitchin of Newport Beach, CA. Preceded in death by brother Thomas Kitchin and son Eric Kitchin. Philip was a direct descendent of Walter Lindley and J.J. Johnson both from Los Angeles and Orange Counties, CA. He attended Santa Ana HS, USC, and Univ. of Penn Dental School. He was an officer in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. His career as a Dentist included General Practice and the Teaching of Dentistry with Loyola Univ. of South. Living in Covington and New Orleans, Louisiana for 45yrs, community activities included the Kiwanis, and a Charter Member of: Krewe of Olympia, Ozone Ramblers Camping Club, and Pontchartrain Yacht Club. He was a member of the historical preservation society; the New Orleans Spring Fiesta Assn. He retired in 1985 and moved to La Jolla, CA in 2004, and finally settled in St Petersburg, Fl in 2012. Philip's hobbies included his love of boating, traveling, and camping. He served with the 1st Marine Div. as Forward Spotter for Naval Guns, on Yong Pong Do Island, Korea.
