When I heard that she had passed, I felt so sad. I had met her in Girl Scout camp many decades ago. She was one of my tent mates. Many decades after that, I spoke to her on the phone in relation to my work. We reminisced about those camp days. I still think about her from time to time.

I just heard about this a couple hours ago - I've been back in town a couple weeks and was really looking forward to making a meeting with you; it is not real to me yet. I just went to the overlook to watch the planes. I never expected the emotional impact that meeting you would have on me in such a short time. You were a gift and this loss hurts. G.M. from one L.A. to another LA. and back.

Erica, you were one of a kind. A slap of much needed creativity to a cry baby humdrum world. I looked forward to your readings with much delight. I am so lucky to have caught you for one last time at the Ave 50 reading. My sincerest condolences to all you have left behind. My wishes, that, wherever you are, you are appreciated even more than you were while you were with us, and, make no mistake,
you were appreciated very much indeed.

Oh my God. Erica was one of my best friends in junior high. We had such fun times together. I had been trying to find her over the last few years. My heart is broken and my condolences go out to her family.

I love you. To the end of my days.

And when the night comes, welcome me home.

You are the ghost in my heart.

I will always remember Erica, her brilliant artistry, her love of animals, and her sense of adventure. She easily mapped the twisting turns of science fiction and created a language to express her intuitions. Erica was brave and sharp and tender.
I have never known anyone like her, though she always reminded me of great characters in novels; she was truly larger than life and will be unforgettable. Love to her family and all those who cherished her.

We honor our Sister-in-Arms and keep her Spirit close. Gone from this plane but never forgotten. The cats will carry her, willy-nilly....

Erica Erdman will always be one of my best friends and greatest inspirations. Thank you for every moment, Erica, especially the giddy ones on the road with nothing but laughter, music, and good restaurants in our path.
