Abraham LURIE Obituary

LURIE, Abraham M. Loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Abe passed away peacefully June 29, 2010. Successful in many business ventures, mostly focused on developing real estate, he left an impact throughout the County and City of Los Angeles and beyond. Notably, he developed and managed several holdings in Marina Del Rey with hotels, docks, centers and other commercial properties. He was 86 years old, a friend of many and is survived by wife Katherine after 27 years of marriage and his four children; Leslie Beck (Ward), Scott (Roseanne), Donald (Melanie), and Thomas. He is survived by 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and brother Dr. William Lurie of Youngstown, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association (ALZ.org). Funeral services will be held Friday, July 9, 2010, 1:00 p.m., Mount Sinai Memorial Parks and Mortuaries - Hollywood Hills, (800) 600-0076.

Abe Lurie was one of the sweetest, kindest human beings I have known. He was a shrewd businessman with a heart of gold. I enjoyed knowing him during my time at RPM.
