Kipke, Arthur Maximillian

Arthur Maximillian Kipke was born in San Francisco, CA on June 11, 1925 to May Muling Kipke and Arthur Maximillian Kipke and passed away on July 23, 2010 at the age of 85 in his home in Palos Verdes Estates, CA surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Greta and Vera and is survived by his sister, Fritzi, his life partner, Gerrie Rae Yamada and children Michele D. Kipke, Ph.D. and A. Karl Kipke. After attending UC Berkeley, Arthur developed residential communities in South America, Saudi Arabia and Colorado. He later became active in the garment industry and co-developed several successful women's clothing lines, including Arthur Max, Gerties and Eleven Stitch Design. Arthur was a sculptor, hunter, pilot and cook. The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to the staff of Torrance Memorial Hospital and the Torrance Memorial Hospital Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care. Private services are pending.
