Takeo Kawahara was born March 26, 1924 in Maui, HI and passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Burbank, CA on May 12, 2011. Services will be held on Saturday, May 21 at 5:30pm at Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, 815 E. 1st St., Los Angeles. Aloha/casual attire. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Careline Hospice (323/254-3102).
Takeo is survived by his loving wife, Carol Kawahara; daughters Alynette (Nathan) Nagamine, Corinne Wong and Sandra (Edward) Nouchi; siblings Mitsuko (Yukio) Matsui and Frank (Helen) Kawahara of Maui, HI and Diane (Butch) Brummett of Alamogordo, NM. He is also survived by stepchildren Tammy (Bruce) Norrbom, Michael (Lori) Matzner and Lisa (Richard) Eaton; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
