September 23, 1928 - October 18, 2012
Ronald A. Ketchum was born on September 23, 1928 in Dearborn Michigan. Ron went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 18, 2012 at the age of 84. He was a loving husband to his bride of 64 years, Beverly. He was the wonderful father of three children, D'ette, Kevin and Jill and the amazing PaPa to nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Norene and brother Ross. Ron was an outgoing, friendly person who will be remembered for his genuine kindness and constant smile. He was active in his church as a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, deacon, elder and short-term mission trip leader. He was a successful mason contractor who also built industrial properties, beach houses, mountain cabins and residential homes - including the Westlake Village home where they have lived for the last 27 years. He also led teams that built over ten small churches throughout Central America. He had many friends with whom he traveled, fished, skied, and golfed. He rode horses, flew airplanes; he had boats, dirt bikes and motorhomes; and enjoyed taking his large family on many fun vacations. Above all else, Ron lived with hope and purpose. He had a passion and love for Jesus Christ and welcomed every opportunity to share his faith so that others could have the same confidence and happiness that he did. He adored his precious wife, was proud of his children, and cherished his grandchildren. He was strong, generous with his time and money, and full of love. God blessed him beyond measure and he was always grateful for these gifts.
A memorial service to celebrate Ron's life is being held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village.
