MCGUYER, John K. "Johnny" July 23, 1939-Nov. 8, 2012 Johnny was a polio victim and wheelchair bound since the age of 13, but definitely was not handicapped; accomplishing many things in life that most of us only dream of doing. Being a member of the Calif. Wheelchair Pilots Assoc. he flew his plane on many Christian missions to Mexico. Also, as a motorsports enthusiast he owned and drove several high performance racing cars which were equipped with hand controls. Johnny was an entrepreneur and owned a retail hobby store that specialized in remote control airplanes and cars. His store, Hobby John's in La Habra, sponsored numerous events and model car races. In addition to retail, John worked as a machine design technician. Later in life he became expert in building detailed model trains, all of which operated; many of these were featured in enthusiast magazines.
