LANG, Archie S. Foreign Service Officer of career, retired, passed away at his home in Pasadena, California, on November 13, 2012. Archie's graduate and post-graduate studies were at New York UNiversity. He served for 31 years at US Embassies and Consulates previously as Vice Consul, Consul, Second and First Secretary, in Europe, Asia, South America and Africa. He also served twice on Department assignments, first as Deputy examiner, foreign Service Board of Examiners, and as Foreign Service Inspector. Following retirement, he was recalled to active duty to organize so called "Boat Refugee" programs in Malaysia. He was an avid reader and he travelled all over the world and enjoyed himself wherever he went. He is survived by his beloved wife Loretta, daughter, Karin Coleman, and son, Michael Juergen and their children. He was preceded in death by his three siblings. Archie, you taught me many things. You have blessed me with your kindness and selfless love you gave me. For this and so much more, I thank you and love you always. Ar Archie's request no memorial or funeral service will be conducted. He will be cremated and interment will be at the Columbarium at Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.
