Paddock III, Andrew B.
July 15, 1936 - February 23, 2013
Andrew B. Paddock III, age 76, died February 23, 2013, at his home in Burbank, California, after sudden illness. Andrew was born in Stockholm, Sweden on July 15, 1936, and came to the USA with his parents Andrew II and Ingegerd the following year. He moved with his family to Australia in 1939 and spent five years there during WW2. Returning to America, he was educated in the Northern Virginia/Maryland area, and became a motion picture film technician, an automotive aficionado and technician, a devoted father and a fine musician. Becoming an accomplished guitarist, he moved to southern California in 1977 from Maryland and continued his musical career, becoming a renowned bluegrass music bass player. Andrew was a member of the Witcher Brothers band and performed with several other groups. He was a graduate of The American University, and a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees, the International Bluegrass Music Association and the International Society of Bassists. Andrew is survived by his children Karen, Kirk, Kathy and Kris, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and his brother, David.
A musical tribute to Andrew will be performed in the Los Angeles area at Vincenzo's in Valencia, California, beginning 2 PM on March 9, 2013.
