Melinda McIntyre-Kolpin Obituary

Melinda McIntyre-Kolpin, a lifelong resident of Pacific Palisades, passed away peacefully at age 57.

After earning her BS in Business Administration from USC in 1978, she embarked on her career in the finance industry which began at Union Bank in Los Angeles, advancing rapidly to positions of increased responsibility, serving as Commercial Banking Officer at Bank of California and later named President and CEO at First Professional Bank in Santa Monica where she specialized in healthcare financing for 16 years.

Most Recently, as Founder, President and CEO of Network Health Financial Services, Inc., Melinda utilized her expertise to assist the healthcare industry in aligning business and project strategies with the appropriate capital resources and cash management products needed. She was a contributing writer for such publications as Medical Economics, IPA Association of California Journal and Group Practice Journal, and addressed medical groups and leadership conferences locally and nationwide. She was also an Adjunct Professor at USC for the Masters in Health Administration Program, and received countless awards recognizing her contributions to the healthcare industry. She was listed by California Medicine as "One of the 100 Most Influential and Interesting Health Care Leaders in California," named "Distinguished Woman of the Year" by the L.A. Chapter of Boy Scouts of America, and was Horizon Award Honoree for the Senior Care Action Network. She held board positions and directorships for Project Angel Food, the National Health Foundation, the American Heart Association, Community Bankers of Southern California, among many others.

Melinda's husband of 30 years, Dr. Chris Kolpin, was also her best friend. She was a devoted mother to daughter, Kathryn, and had a passion for collectible monkeys. Loving, loyal and always sincere, Melinda had a sense of humor and contagious laugh that will be missed, but never forgotten, by her family and all who had the privilege and joy of knowing her.

Predeceased by her beloved brother Jim ("Jimmy") McIntyre, Melinda is survived by her husband Chris; daughter Kathryn; mother Gail Randazzo; father Jim McIntyre Sr; stepmother Amanda McIntyre; brother William ("Billy") McIntyre and wife Jennifer; two sisters, Tracy McIntyre-Fredricks (husband Jon) and Tina Kerner-Gough (husband Mark); and 18 nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass celebrating Melinda's life will be held at Corpus Christi Church in Pacific Palisades on Friday, July 5, at 3:00 pm, with a reception following at the Upper Bel Air Bay Club. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Melinda's memory to The Molina Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving lives through literacy and education.
