Gino Sturiale was born Jul 13, 1920. On Aug 26, 2013 at the age of 93, Gino passed away peacefully in his home in Woodland Hills.
Born and raised in Rochester, NY and after graduating from the University of Rochester in 1952, Gino moved to CA with his wife and two daughters to begin his career as an Aerospace Engineer for Hughes Aircraft Co. He was Chief Scientist of Hughes Missile Division and made innovations in both microwave and infrared guidance systems that are still in regular use today (decades later). He truly enjoyed every moment of his working life and didn't retire from Hughes Aircraft until he was 75! Gino, who was a very generous man, thoroughly enjoyed treating his family and friends and will be missed by many!
Gino is preceded in death by his wife, Ada of 68 years and his daughter, Lorilyn Hart who succumbed to cancer in 2005. Gino is survived by his sister, Thelma DePalma of Rochester, NY; daughter, Rita Sturiale of Boise, ID; and will also be missed by his 3 grandchildren, Marisa, Gina & Hunter; and his great grandson, Dustin.
Family and friends will be celebrating Gino's remarkable life at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Mortuary in Westlake Village on Sun, Sept 1st at 2pm.
