Thelus R. Heath passed away at the age of 76 at his home in Los Angeles, CA on August 30, 2013, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Arcadia, Louisiana on June 23, 1937 to Mabel and Felma Heath. The family moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1940. He attended public schools and graduated from Fremont High School in 1954. He then joined the Air Force and received an honorable discharge on June 27, 1963. He attended Trade Technical College and received an AA Degree in Business Management.
He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a Distribution Clerk and achieved numerous promotions. He served as Supervisor of Mails, Tour Superintendent, and in 1986 was promoted to Operations Manager, Airport Mail Facility. He retired from this position and the Postal Service on October 10, 1992.
After retirement he was an avid bowler, enjoyed spending time at Starbucks and trips to Las Vegas, until he began to have health issues.
He is loved and survived by his wife of 38 years, Wilma Heath; son, Kevin Heath; granddaughter, Kaylynn Heath; surrogate granddaughter, Jailah Thomas; sister, Marjorie Hite; nephew, Ronald Heath; and stepsons, Christopher, Gregory and Steven Malone.
His final wishes were to be cremated and no funeral service. His body has been entrusted to the Neptune Society and his cremated remains will have a formal sea scattering with immediate family in attendance. Donations in memory of can be made to the
