Angelina Urioste Obituary

Urioste, Angelina "Angie" Saracino Much loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and cousin - Angie passed away in Glendale on Sunday, March 12th of natural causes. She was at her son Frank's home at the time of her passing, surrounded by many members of her family. Born in Los Angeles in 1909, Angie was the second youngest of Matteo and Antoinette Saracino's eight children. Angie married Frank T. Urioste in 1937. Frank worked as an airplane bomb site manufacturer during World War II, and shortly afterwards started at MGM, where he was a music editor for over 30 years. Angie and Frank have two children, Frank J. and Carol, six grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren, most of whom still live in the Glendale area and were with her at her bedside as she passed on. Known as "Grandma" to just about everybody, Angie was renowned for her love of family, her non-stop cooking, including old-country Italian specialties and her homespun sayings. She retained her graciousness and sense of humor to the last moments of her life, and will be sorely missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She is survived by her children Frank J. Urioste and Carol Brown of Glendale; her daughter-in-law and son-in law, Gemma Urioste and Bob Brown; grandchildren Rosemarie Wheeler and her husband Rob; Marianne Boyce and her husband Roger; Michelle Betance and her husband Michael; Angela Brown; Bob Brown and his wife Elissa; and Frank G. Urioste. She is also survived by niece Pat Saracino Crouch and nephew Bill Saracino, with whom she was especially close; and dozens of cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 15th at 10:00 AM at Incarnation Catholic Church, 1001 N. Brand Blvd. Glendale, Interment will follow immediately at Calvary Cemetery, 4201 E. Whittier Blvd., LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Angie's honor to St. Francis High School Scholarship Fund, 200 Foothill Blvd., La Canada, 91011; or Santa Teresita School, 2646 Zonal Ave., L.A. 90033.
