June 10, 1923 - May 21, 2014 With a zest for life until his last hour, Stan Cohen passed away May 21, 2014 in Santa Monica at almost 91. Born in St. Louis and raised in Nebraska, Stan was a football player at the University of Nevada, fought in WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart, and graduated from the University of Illinois. His career was in the furniture business in Los Angeles. Stan was an optimist who shared his humor, wisdom, and keen memory with a large, loving family and loyal friends. Life-long education, travel, and sports were his passions after family, always first in his heart. Married to the late Harriet Patt in 1946 for 42 years, they had 3 loving children, Sue, Joel, and Andy. In 1990 he married the late Lona Freedman, and gained another large and caring family. Stan is survived by sister Ronnie Stabler (Joe), daughter Sue Deutchman (Marc), and son Andy, grandchildren Josh, Jeremy, Haley and Claire and five great grandchildren along with many step-children and grandchildren, and cousins - all who adored Papa Stan. Services are 12:30pm Friday, May 23rd at Mount Sinai, Hollywood Hills. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stan's memory to the
