Michael Ludmer Obituary

Michael Ludmer, 85, of West Los Angeles, passed away on June 30, 2014 in Paso Robles, CA.
Michael was born in Berlin, Germany to Joseph and Esther Ludmer on January 14, 1929. He attended the University of Washington and was a member of the University Showboat Theater Group. He served during the Korean War in the U.S. Coast Guard.
He began his career in Hollywood as a literary agent at the Famous Artists Agency. He went on to work at Warner Brothers in the story department. Later he transitioned to Universal Studios and became Vice President in charge of the Story Department at MCA Universal.
Michael enjoyed backpacking in the Sierra Nevada with friends and family, and his love of travel and the outdoors inspires the family to this day. He participated in surveying Montana lands for the Wilderness Act of 1964, and his enthusiasm continued through a Colorado River rafting adventure with his wife Joyce just last month. He was a creative inventor and a vociferous reader.
Michael is survived by his loving wife Joyce; sons Paul (Robin Weinstein), Jon, and Mark (Terri Krizan), grandchildren Evan Joseph, Mara Rachelle, Ian Michael; and his younger siblings Stanley, Henry, and Dee Widder.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 PM, Monday, July 7, at Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City,(Mausoleum East Court). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Point Reyes National Seashore, Sierra Club Foundation, or Audubon Society of California.

I miss him every day. He was a good friend & we had some wonderful times riding around Marin & Sonoma counties in his VW bus. Each time I pass the Rincon Valley Exit off 101 I remember how I tried to buy the ranch in Santa Rosa that he house sat.
