Patricia Coulombe

Obituary Condolences Flowers

Born in New York City on November 21, 1924, Patricia Coulombe died on March 24, 2015. The widow of Guy J.C. Coulombe (1926-1996), Mrs. Coulombe was a stage and radio actress and a member of AFTRA, meeting her future husband on a sound stage for the "Lux Radio Theatre." The first woman to break into radio in 15 years due to her ability to provide five different voices in a single broadcast, she also appeared in such programs as "My True Story." She made her debut on stage at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York. Impressed with her work, noted drama teacher Edward Goodman came out of retirement to tutor her. Retiring from acting to raise two sons, she and her family came out to Los Angeles in 1965. She assisted her husband in the management of the family firm, Coulombe and Sons; taught acting herself for ten years; and wrote screenplays, poetry, and short stories. She received an Associate of Arts from Mission College. Fond of the Latin language, Edgar Allan Poe, and ballroom dancing, she was a devout Catholic. Mrs. Coulombe is survived by her sons, Andre (Joann) of Sylmar and Charles of Monrovia; her sister, Mrs. Virginia Barrett of Greenwich, CT; grandchildren Guy, Charles, Phillip (Claire), Nicholas, Albert, Adeline, Fleurette, Bernadette, Joseph, and Claire Coulombe; nephews John and Brian Henry, Glenn (Midge) and James (Sharon) Barrett, and Bruce and Joel (Sherryl) Kitchens; niece Jane (Roger) Williams; numerous great nieces and nephews; and was awaiting the birth of her first great grandchild at the time of her passing. Rosary will be tonight at 7:00 pm at Cabot & Sons Chapel, Pasadena. Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 10:30 am at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Eagle Rock.
