O'Donnell, William R., "Bill" (89) died May 3, 2006 in Playa del Rey, CA. Born November 22, 1916, in Johnstown, PA. Bill served with honor as a gun commander in Company C Ä 805th tank destroyer battalion in the U.S. Army during WWII. Sergeant O'Donnell received the Good Conduct Medal, European - African - Middle Eastern service medal and three bronze stars. Mr. O'Donnell was retired from North American Rockwell. As a member of the space division, he helped build Apollo 11 "Eagle" and the first space shuttle. He was a member of St. Anastasia's Church.

Funeral services were held in Johnstown, PA, and burial was at St. John Gualbert Cemetery in Johnstown. Friends will gather at La Marina Restaurant on Sunday, May 21, to remember Bill. Donations may be sent to Covenant House, 1325 N. Western Avenue, Hollywood, CA 90027.
