Shirley Harriet Becker

July 21, 1935 - May 9, 2017 Shirley Harriet Becker (nee Golub), 81, died May 9, 2017 at the Motion Picture Television Fund home in Calabasas, CA. Shirley, one of seven children, was born on July 21,1935 in Norma, NJ. When she was 10 years old, her family moved to Los Angeles where she attended John Burroughs Middle School, Los Angeles High School and UCLA. In 1965, Shirley started work as a secretary at Warner Bros., raising three children as a single mother. She rose through the ranks over her 36 years with the company and retired as Vice President of Film Distribution in 2001. She remained a valued and respected member of the Warner Bros. family until her death. Shirley had three children - Steven, Jeffrey and Dianne, but lost her only daughter from complications related to diabetes at the age of 31. In 1994, Shirley married Mickey Borofsky and the two lived in Malibu until Shirley was diagnosed with cancer a year ago. Shirley was an inspiration, a heroine and a loving soul. She will be missed, but never forgotten. Shirley is survived by her husband Mickey and two sons Steven and Jeffrey, her daughters-in-law Patricia and Haya, her grandchildren Lauren, Jane, Sam, Zoe, Ariel and Elijah, and her brother Henry.
