Benjamin Lum Obituary
Character actor seen in countless films, television shows and commercials passed away January 1, 2002 after a brief illness. Born in Hawaii (1953), Benjamin was an educator then became known for stage and screen there before coming to Los Angeles to continue his career. He was an active member of East West Players. Benjamin is survived by brothers Vincent and Michael Lum in Honolulu; sisters Patricia Chang and Roberta Fazande in San Francisco. The funeral will be held in Hawaii Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; Visitation 9:30 to 11 a.m., Service 11 a.m.; burial to follow at Valley of the Temples Cemetery at 1 p.m. A ``Celebration of Life" Memorial will take place at East West Players, The David Henry Hwang Theatre at The Union Center for the Arts, 120 North Judge John Aiso Street in Los Angeles on Saturday January 26, 2002 at 11:00 AM. All are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Benjamin Lum Scholarship Fund, care of East West Players, 120 North Judge John Aiso St., L.A., CA 90012.
