Dolores Ford Newsome

SOUTHERN PINES — Dolores Ford Newsome, 83, formerly of Laurinburg passed away on Sept. 22, 2013 at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 25 at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. Neal Carter. A visitation will follow in the fellowship hall.

She is survived by her husband Lloyd, her sons Les Newsome of Laurinburg and Ron Newsome of Derby, her daughter Rhonda Muelling of Madison, Wis., her brother Henry Ford of Roanoke Rapids, her sister Henrietta "Susie" Maus of Williamsburg, Va., and two grandchildren.

Born on March 3, 1930 in Guilford County, she was a son of the late Lester and Mildred Forbis Ford. She attended East Carolina University and served as a teacher's assistant for the Vance County Head Start and the Scotland County Schools. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and was an avid square dancer.
