LAURINBURG — Martha Elizabeth Breeden, 70, passed away on March 4, 2014 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
Martha was born on Sept. 24, 1943 in Scotland County, daughter of the late Woodrow and Gertrude Norton Breeden. She loved her career as a hair dresser and attended the New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church. Before her illness, she enjoyed horseback riding and truly loved sharing time with family.
Also preceding her in death were her siblings William Breeden and Martha Helen Norton.
She is survived by her son John L. Cole and wife Brenda of Rocky Mount and daughter Zorana G. Whitewater and husband Harvey of Laurinburg, her brother Woodrow Breeden of Laurinburg, her sisters Ruby Shelly of Bennettsville, S.C., JoAnn Towery of Laurinburg, and Dorothy Rothrock of Jackson, Miss., four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews.
The family will have a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church and receive friends immediately following the service.
