MAXTON — Amanda Chavis "Mandy" Hunt, 69, passed away on Sept. 5, 2015.

Funeral services will be at noon on Wednesday at the Turnpike Baptist Church with burial following in the Hunt Family Cemetery.

Mandy was born on July 5, 1946 in Robeson County, a daughter of the late Charles Wesley Chavis and Clardell Brayboy Chavis. She was the loving and devoted wife to the late Johnny Hunt, who passed away in 1999. She dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family.

She loved going to church, reading her Bible and serving as a member of the Turnpike Baptist Church. Mandy enjoyed cooking, gardening and going spot fishing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Ivan Chavis, Charles Chavis, and Elmer Chavis and sisters Sadie Mae Andronis and Mary Brewer.

Mandy leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Wilbert Hunt and wife Deborah of Maxton, her daughters Mandy Marie Riggs and husband Roger of Richland, Peggy Locklear and husband Fred of Sanford, and Ann Marie H. Locklear and husband Jeff of Maxton, her brothers RoyLee Chavis, Bobby Chavis, and Donald Chavis all of Charlotte and Samuel Chavis of Fort Mill, her sister Joyce Clark of Charlotte, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
