LAUREL HILL — Bernice Edward "Ed" Bailey, 68, passed away at his home on Dec. 9, 2015.

Ed was born on June 22, 1947 in Scotland County, son of the late Bernice and Alma Drew Bailey. He worked as an electrician with Earl's Electrical Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc., until his health declined.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and old western movies and caring for his favorite feline buddy Midnight. Ed was a kind, free spirited, generous man who enjoyed simple country living and loved sharing time with others, especially his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers William "Buddy" Bailey, Robert "Shrimp" Bailey, and Samuel "Tadpole" Bailey and sister Betty Bailey.

Ed is survived by his wife Elaine Bailey of their home, his son SMSgt Brian Edward Bailey, Sr. (Clarita Martinez) of Lompoc, California, his sisters Barbara Bailey Tyndall (Gary) of Laurel Hill and Cathy Bailey Douglas (Frank) of Jamestown, his grandson Eddie Bailey, Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by the Rev. Marvin Seals. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, beginning at 1:30 p.m. A private interment will be at a later date.
