Betty Haux

LAURINBURG — Betty Haux, 76, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Born February 5, 1941, in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late James and Maggie Currie Wallace. She loved flower gardens (especially rose gardens), and her tomato plants. She worked as an assembler with Dana Corporation.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bob Haux of the home; two sons, Robert Scott "Scotty" Haux (Liz) and Mark Allen Haux, both of Laurinburg; daughter, Jacqueline "Jackie" Kay Butler (Phil) of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Cody Haux, Andrew Haux, Jennifer Hunter, Jillian Chavis, Randi Nassif, and Shane Butler; her sister, Catherine "Cat" Johnson of Laurinburg; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Morris Currie and James L. "Buddy" Wallace.

A visitation will be Tuesday, May 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium and other times at the residence.

A funeral service will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17 at Cross Pointe Church, officiated by the Sr. Pastor Michael Edds and Rev. Legrande Taylor. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
