MAXTON — Beulah Mae Chavis, born Oct. 19, 1926, departed this life on Nov. 15, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Nov. 18 at Sycamore Hill Free Will Holiness Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The Rev. Floyd Hunt, the Rev. Eugene Chavis and the Rev. Eddie Carter will officiate the services.
She was the daughter of the late Andrew Bethel and Sara Ann Chavis. She dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family. She was an extremely talented seamstress who loved sewing and enjoyed gardening. She faithfully served the Lord and was a longtime member of Sycamore Hill Free Will Holiness Church.
Mrs. Chavis is survived by her sons Nelson Chavis and wife Lottie of the home in Maxton and Robert Jr. Oxendine of Maxton and daughter Jeanette Pittman and husband Stan of Beech Island, S.C. She also leaves her sister Clavie Buttrum of Baltimore, Md., a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Nov. 17 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
