GENEVIEVE, Mo. — Bobby Ray Jacobs, 62, of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 at Mercy Hospital St. Louis in St. Louis, Mo.

He was born March 15, 1954 in Scotland County. Bobby Ray was a member of Quarry Workers Local Union #830. He was an over-the-road truck driver for 33 years. For ten years he worked and drove for MACK Trucking Company in South Carolina. What a view of life he had looking out of the windshield of his truck as he drove in 49 states. He crisscrossed Canada several times and drove all over Nova Scotia. He retired from Tower Rock Stone Company in 2012.

Bobby Ray is survived by his wife Lee Ann (Huck) Jacobs, of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. The two were married in May 27, 1995. He is also survived by four sons: Richard (Jennifer) Strickland, of Marston; Charles-Michael (Tresa) Haywood, of Jonesboro, Ga.; Smith Jacobs, of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; and Will Jacobs, of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; two daughters, Kathy Jo Jacobs, of Marston; and Bobbie Jo (Jerry) Blackmon, of Summerton; two sisters, Betty (Larry) LaTone, of Toronto, Canada; and Alice (Paul) Stewart, of Winston, Ga; and five grandchildren, Kayla, Wyatt, Madyson, Camryn and Lela and one great-grandchild Caleb.

Bobby Ray was preceded in death by his parents Ufus and Willie Ruth (Lee) Seals. He was later adopted by Whiteford Jacobs (deceased) and Martha (Chevis) Jacobs who currently resides in North Carolina.

Visitation will be at St. Joseph Church Zell, Mo. on Saturday, Jan. 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be at St. Joseph Church Zell, Mo. on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. The Clergy will be Msgr. Jeffrey Knight and Msgr. James Hansen. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the family.
